Well over 1,000 people attended Sunday’s Ladysmith Loggers Sports event - a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock.
In total, $3,629 was raised in support of local rider Lindy Skutnik, including a $700 donation from the winner of the 50/50 draw who generously donated their winnings.
The 20th annual Tour leaves Port Alice on Sept. 23 and stops in 27 communities, covering over 1,100 kilometres, before the grande finale in Victoria on Oct. 6.
Tour riders will be in Ladysmith on Monday, Oct. 2 and attend the
Red Serge Dinner fundraiser at Eagles Hall.
Tickets are available at the Chamber of Commerce or Ladysmith & District Credit Union for $25.
