Two medivaced after motorcycle slams into car

At 1402 hours June 30th Ladysmith RCMP responded to a report of a serious MVI at the South Bound Lanes of the Trans. Canada Highway at the Oyster Sto Lo intersection situated just North of Ladysmith B.C.. Initial investigation has established that a motorcycle with two occupants rear ended a South Bound motor vehicle which appeared to be stopped at that intersection.

Both occupants of the motor cycle have now been medivaced by Air Ambulance to Hospitals in Vancouver and Victoria. The two occupants of the motor vehicle were assessed by EHS at scene but not transported.

Island District South Island Traffic Services have assumed Primary Investigative status and have now assumed full control of the investigation. A Specialized Island District Traffic Analyst has been called to scene for further forensic examination of the physical evidence.
