It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear and wonderful Aunt Aili on April 28, 2010 at the age of 91. She was predeceased by her parents Emil and Tilda Lampy, her beloved husband Bill, sisters Sarah and Ellen and her brother-inlaw Clarence. She is survived by nephews Reg (Dot) Hankey of Chemainus, Ed (Aline) Peerens of Anacortes, WA, Ray (Bonnie) Peerens of Ladysmith, niece Doris Grande of Parksville, BC, many great and great-great nieces and nephews, as well as many special friends.

Aili was born and raised in Cedar. She met and married her husband, Bill, in 1942. Th ey built a home in Saltair and she resided there until 2007. She enjoyed baking, gardening, and traveling on the bus. Known to many as “Auntie Aili”, she volunteered for more than 30 years at the Ladysmith Hospital. In 2008 she was Ladysmith’s Citizen of the Year. Th e family would like to thank Wendy and Brent and Staff of the Seaside Lodge for all the care and kindness given to her during her time there. No service by Aili’s request. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC or a charity of your choice.
