In Ladysmith, B.C., on June 6, 2003. Born in Sheffield, England on October 25, 1934.
Alec moved to Ladysmith in 1987 where he was active in the Credit Union as a member of the Board or Directors. Survived by his loving wife Annette, sons: Andrew (Diane), Patrick (Ellen), daughters: Georgina (Loren), Saman-tha, 6 grandchildren: Alec, Tessa, Adam, Jordan, Heather and Dylan, also brothers: Bill Roper and Ben Roper of the U.K. A special thanks to his very good friends Brian Childs and Joan Adair as well as the nursing staff of Ladysmith Hospital for their care and kindness. A remembrance tea was held at the family residence, 220 Roberts St., Ladysmith, B.C. on Wednesday, June 11, 2003, 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A private family service was held at the Ladysmith Cemetery.
