Born in Blairgrowrie, Scotland, February 13, 1920, passed away peacefully May 12, 2005. Anne was predeceased by her loving husband, Michael James in 1989 and a son-in-law, Milne Fullerton, in 1998. She will be sadly missed by her seven children: Pat Cullon (Jack), Sheila Dalrymple, Mickey Roche, Heather Cloke (Terry), Betty Roche (Richard), Brian Roche (Cindy), Carol Mjoen (Steve); her sixteen grandchildren and her six great-grandchildren. Anne was raised in Scotland and attended school in England and Switzerland. She served in WWII where she met and fell in love with a Canadian soldier named Mickey Roche, In 1945 she came to Canada as a war bride and lived in remote coastal areas where Mickey made a living in the logging industry. Ann was the “Avon Lady” for 45 years, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Widows Club and a Canasta Club. She was the matriarch of her family and will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. A memorial sevice will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at First Memorial, 1720 Bowen Road, Nanaimo. A tea will follow at the Nanaimo Yacht Club from 2:30 to 4:30 pm. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in her memory may be made to the Breast Cancer Society or Heart & Stroke Foundation.
