Arlene F. Kulai

March 26, 1948 – June 2, 2017

Arlene Florence Kulai (née MacDonald) of Chemainus, BC, passed away suddenly in hospital on June 2, 2017, surrounded by her family. Arlene, who was 69, had tenaciously battled Parkinson’s disease for years. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Derek; her devoted children, Denike (Michael), and Darcy (Christine); and her beloved grandson, Lucas. She’ll also be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Theresa MacDonald, Alice Spencer (Reg), Joanne Booth (Rod), and their families; as well as many relatives and close friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Olga and Douglas.

Arlene was an extraordinary lady who was a gifted teacher, talented musician, and creative quilter. She touched the lives of so many people and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Come celebrate Arlene’s life on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at 11:30 a.m., at Ladysmith Primary School, 510 Sixth Ave., Ladysmith, BC. To honour Arlene, please wear bright colours and bring a favourite story to share. Refreshments to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
