Born July 1, 1923 in Nanaimo, B.C., died at her home in Cedar on March 14, 2002 with family members at her side after a short battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her husband, John, in 1986 and her eldest son, Paul, in 1992. Survived by her children, Laila (Robert) Cliffe, William (Rhonda) Taylor, Robin
(Sharon) Taylor and Emily (Fred) Lackie; grandchildren, William (Misty) Cliffe, Anna and Laura Cliffe; Kolton and Brayden Taylor, Renae (Reece) Hygh and Darren (Carolyn) Rogers; great granchildren Makayla Cliffe, Travis Hygh and Danielle Rogers. Also survived by her sister Audry (Bill) Jensen of Ladysmith; her aunt, Irene Takala, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. No funeral service at mother’s request. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the family home on Sunday, March 24 from 1 to 4 pm In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to thank all the Home Support Workers who cared for Mother since 1998, as well as Dr. C. Walker and Home Support Nurse, Gail West for their compassionate care.
