Audrey lived for her family, raising her children and ensuring a strong connection to extended family was preserved. A woman of fortitude, Audrey met every challenge in her life with grace and the ability to rise to whatever the occasion demanded. While a mother and homemaker Audrey utilized her skills as a seamstress for her family and later as a businesswoman selling her creations across Canada.
Aside from providing a loving home Audrey's amazing fashion sense led to her career in retail sales management for many years, providing advice and assisting innumerable customers and friends in developing their style. Audrey was a long-time member of the Kinnette Club of Ladysmith, holding various offices over the years and volunteering in the club and the community. Audrey was also active in the Junior Auxiliary and many other organizations over the years. As a member of the PTA Audrey was instrumental in opening the Ladysmith Elementary Schools lending library. Audrey loved to dance and spent many years square dancing across Canada with husband Sterling, always sharing the last dance together.
A hard worker Audrey's volunteer efforts helped build our community, a loving home for her family, and a welcoming haven for friends. The innumerable contributions she made to our lives could never be recounted but come to mind as cherished memories bring them to mind.
A celebration of life will be held July 6 at 2:00 pm at the Eagles Hall Ladysmith.
The family would like to thank Dr Kennedy and Dr Browne for their exemplary care and the home care nurses and aides for their kindness and caring. Moms last years at La Rosa Gardens allowed her to relax and enjoy friends, cards and bingo, the loving care she received added to the enjoyment of the last few years.
Grief is the last act of love we have to give to those we love.
Where there is deep grief there was great love.
