Chester Bernard FRANSEN

December 15, 2004

Born March 2, 1928 in Claresholm, Alberta, passed away in the early hours of the morning of December 15, 2004, at the age of 76.

Chester was predeceased by his parents and three brothers.

Lovingly remembered by Elsie, his wife of 53 years. Children: Wayne, Carrol (Brent), Arthur (Cheryl), Brenda (Bernie) and Judy (Ted). Grandchildren: Karrie-Ann, Teresa, Adam, Jonathan, Sarah, Kathryn, Candice and Crystal; great grandsons Jacob and Joshua.

Survived by brother Hector, Walter (Maxine) and sisters Dot (Lawrence), Bernice (Jim), Irene (Gene) and numerous other relatives and friends.

While living in Alberta, Chester worked on the oil rigs and after moving to Ladysmith he spent most of his working life as a longshoreman, taking a few years off fulfilling his dream of becoming a fisherman. Chester was a proud hardworking, honest member of the I.L.W.U.

Chester was a huge supporter of soccer and baseball, never missing a game. During the past few year he became an arm chair golf fanatic.

A Funeral Service was held on December 17th, 2004 at 3:00 at the Bethel Pentecostal Tabernacle Church.

The Fransen family would like to send a special thank you to the Ladysmith Ambulance attendants and ICU staff at Nanaimo General Hospital.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Chester’s memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

You were well loved and will be missed.
