DAPHNE CLARE MACLEOD

July 18th, 1923 to March 27th, 2007

Daphne peacefully passed away during the sunrise of March 27th at Victoria General Hospital. She is survived by her children Catriona, Allan, (Madelaine), Sheena (Carl) and grandchildren Carla, Callum, Rory, Trenton, Troy, Bryce, Brevan, her loyal dog Jack, and a soon to be born great grandson. She was predeceased by her daughter Moria Jean and her husband Angus Graham.

Daphne was born in Southampton, England. She met the love of her life, Angus in 1948 during a tea dance at the Astoria Hotel in London. In 1953 she moved to Canada with Angus and two young children in tow. They lived in Vancouver, on Saltspring Island and had many homes on Vancouver Island.

Daphne had a long successful career as a talented registered nurse, which began in London during WWII, and ended with home care duties in Duncan.

When Daphne and Angus settled in Chemainus, she became actively involved in various organizations. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, a talented writer, a gifted gardener, a gracious lady and a devoted supporter of the BC piping and legion communities.

A special thanks to the caring staff of Chemainus, Cowichan and Victoria General Hospitals. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Duncan Legion Pipeband, Branch #53, #203 - 225 Canada Avenue. The service will be held at Chemainus United Church on Saturday April 14th at 1:00pm.
