November 21, 1954 - May 30, 2021
After bravely facing his battle with cancer, Denis said goodbye on May 30, 2021. He gathered a few close friends for one last hurrah! Then he sat in his favorite recliner with Sheila, his wife of 46 years, and his four children, Amanda, Jonathan, Daniel & Kathryn, and left on his own terms out at the pond with a bonfire roaring.
Born in Hull, Quebec, Denis moved here in 1971 and made Ladysmith his home. He was well known in the mill industry as a Sawfiler and for being a straight shooter. He spent the bulk of his career in Ladysmith Sawmill at Doman's, later known as WFP.
He was predeceased by his father, Ferdinand, and his brother, Robert. He is survived by his mother, Marie, and his brother, Michel.
Outdoors, Denis enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time by a bonfire with his friends and family. Indoors, he loved a good card game, drinking coffee at McDonalds with the boys and wing nights at the Sporty.
He loved to travel and was always planning the next trip. Denis was an amazing Grandpa to Treyton, Slade, Braxton and Blake. Everyone who knew him will miss him and never forget his contagious laughter.
Sheila and family thank all those who offered their love and support. You gave him what he needed to stay strong on tough days.
A celebration of Denis' life will be held at his home on June 26, 2021 in an open house style from 1pm-6pm.
