LOVROD, Dorothy Jean (nee Foskett)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
Born on May 11, 1922 on a homestead in N. Saskatchewan; passed away peacefully in Ladysmith Hospital on June 3, 2007. Dorothy moved with her family to England in 1937; in 1939 during WWII she joined the air force, first serving for England and later transferring to Canadian Services Overseas. She returned to Canada and settled in Ladysmith in 1946. In August 1947 Dorothy married Martin Lovrod; Martin passed away in May 1979. Dorothy is survived by 2 daughters, Karen Martin (Kevin) and Cheryl Machan both of Victoria; sisters Joan Stubbington of Victoria, and Evelyn Herman (Ed) of Campbell River; brother, Walter Foskett of Salmon Arm; 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, nieces and nephews. Special thanks to nurses at Ladysmith Hospital, Dr. Meyer, and Hillary for their kind care and attention. Memorial service will be held at First Memorial Chapel, 1720 Bowen Rd. Nanaimo on June 12, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Victoria Epilepsy and Parkinson’s Centre, 813 Darwin Rd. Victoria or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
