Douglas Bennell CRAIG

October 25, 2005

December 30, 1933 - October 25, 2005

Douglas Craig left this world peacefully early in the morning of October 25, 2005. He was surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Joan, his children: Marion (Tanya), David (Jill), and Pauline (Scott); his siblings: Donald (Dorothy), and Gladys, and his granchildren, Daniel and Katie.

Doug and Joan moved to the Yukon in 1969. Their initial plan to stay 3 years, changed and they remained in Whitehorse ever since. Doug will be remembered as being a loving husband, father and friend, a young-at-heart innovator, a geologist and an educator. He was ever a diplomat, always looking to enhance his community through his scientific and social contributions.

Funeral services were held at Christ Church Cathedral, 4th Ave. and Elliott St., Whitehorse on Saturday, October 29th at 1:00 p.m. Reception followed at Hellaby Hall.

Visitation for immediate family only.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Yukon Foundation - an educational scholarship will be established in memory of Douglas Craig.

Thank you to the nursing staff at Whitehorse General Hospital and the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary
