Edith (Nellie) CLANCY

Edith (Nellie), of Cassidy and a resident of Dufferin Place for the last 2 years passed away peacefully on August 15th at the age of 84. Edith was born in Cowichan Station and moved with her family to Quesnel Lake in Cedar as a young girl. She was educated and worked in the Cedar area until she was married. Edith was predeceased by her husband of 57 years Harold (Barney) who passed away in 1997. She was also predeceased by her parents, brothers Oscar, Percy, Dave and Arthur and two grand-daughters: Michelle and Lara. Survived by her sisters Ivy, Isabel (Abe), Betty (Gary), sisters-in-law Elsie and Lois and brothers Tommy, Cyril (Jean), and Clifford; her loving son Lorne (Patsy) and her loving daughter Doris (Stan); six grandchildren: Dennis, Harvey, Lisa, Launa, Owen and Jason; six great-grandchildren; Tyler, Tanya Corinne, Brendan, Brianna, Riley and many nieces and nephews. Edith lived in her own home in Cassidy for 56 years before becoming a resident of Dufferin Place where she was well taken care of by a devoted staff. Edith was always involved with her family and helping anyone she could. She was an avid member of the Bowen Park Seniors Quilting where she spent many happy hours quilting until her health prevented her from participating. A private family graveside committal will be held at Cedar Valley on Thursday, August 19. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
