Edna Jane Ireland Sigsworth

Born Saskatoon, SK,1929. She was born to Hugh and Alice Ireland. She was a rambunctious tomboy who stood up for the underdog, with an unwavering sense of right and wrong.
As a young girl she loved the outdoors. Edna worked for parks and rec, during the summer months she was in charge of the playground and outdoor skating rinks in the winter. It was there Edna met a young man named Ray Sigsworth, and the two of them eventually married and had three children.
While visiting Vancouver Island, Edna decided this was where she would retire. She loved everything about Ladysmith. Edna join the Anglican Church and volunteered for everything the church did in the community. A well-known fixture in Ladysmith Edna was notorious for volunteering with the food bank, Senior Center, and other various charities.
She loved taking her scooter to the coff ee shops where she could be found with her loving daughters. An active member of the community she will be missed by many.
Edna never had very much but she was willing to share what she had with those who needed it most. Her fi nal wish was to be part of Living Reef Memorial CANADA. Edna's ashes will become part of building a healthy coral reef in our oceans. In lieu of flowers the family is asking people to donate to her Living Reef fund at Ladysmith CIBC #540/7886136
She is fondly remembered and loved by her two girls, her six grandsons, her two sisters, and their families, plus all the people whose lives she touched.
