It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Ted, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He died of sudden unexpected causes on January 1st at Victoria General Hospital.
Born and raised in Vancouver he attended university in Victoria and Edmonton. He spent his working career in Alberta where as an accomplished urban planner he left plans for the growth of the cities both Edmonton and Calgary. It was during this period of time that he was awarded The Nuffield Foundation Fellowship for municipal plannning. Upon moving to the island he brought his talents with him to the Nanaimo Airport Board of Directors and to the community of Saltair.
He was a talented musician playing and performing the Tuba throughout his life ending with the Calgary Concert Band. An outdoors man he loved the mountains and the sea. But most of all he was a family man.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Bernadette, his daughter Beth (living in Houston Texas), his son Richard (living in Lethbridge Alberta), his grandchildren Alyshia, Kailynn, Chole and Evan, his brother Jim and his sister Diana both of Victoria.
A quiet family service for Ted was conducted by Father Micheal of St. Micheal and All Angels Anglican Church in Chemainus on January 10th of this year.
He touched many people in his passage through life and will be remembered fondly.
