Eva May SKETCHLEY (Hatton)

November 20, 2003

SKETCHLEY,

Eva May (Hatton): Passed away peacefully November 20, 2003 at the Chemainus Health Care Center. Mom was born June 17, 1922 in Delhi, Ontario. Mom and Dad were married in Calgary, Alberta in 1942 and moved to Chemainus in 1946. Mom and Dad celebrated fifty years of marriage before Dad passed away in 1992. Mom had many hobbies: ceramics, knitting, crocheting and bowling but none more enjoyable to her than spending time with the grandchildren. Many happy family gatherings were held at Mom and Dads. Mom was predeceased by her brothers; Freddie (at birth), Don, Bruce, and sister Margie (at birth). Mom is survived by her loving family: Mary-Lou (Larry) Wheeler, Chemainus; Vivian Grant, Port McNeil; Beth Ross, Duncan; Penny (Tom) Kozijn, Duncan; Rick Sketchley, Chemainus. Grand-children: Vern (Linda), Pamela, Karla, Dustin, Garett (Skye), Eric (Trisha), Krista, Don, David and Derrick. Great grandchildren: Andrea, Catriona, Collin, Joshua and Jazmin. We will all remember Mom’s sense of humor and her love of playing games at family functions, especially cards and Yahtzee as well as the picnics that were enjoyed by all. I’m sure we will all have a lot of wonderful memories of Mom (Grandma). Mom is also survived by her loving sister June Wilson of Ladysmith, brothers Ken Hatton and Tom (Elaine) Hatton of Chemainus, as well as many nieces and nephews. We wish to thank Dr. Gee and the staff of the Chemainus Health Care Centre for their care and support over the past four and a half years. Flowers are gratefully declined. Those wishing may donate to the Alzheimer’s Society of BC, The Salvation Army, or to a charity of one’s choice. A tea is to be held Friday, November 29, 2003 at 1:00 pm at the Chemainus Fire Hall, 9901 Chemainus Road (corner of Pine Street and Chemainus Road). “Love you always Mom (Grandma)”
