In loving memory ~
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Eve after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She will be dearly missed by her partner Roger, daughter Jayne (Perry), son Steve (Debbie) as well as grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends and family, here and in England.
She was predeceased by her husband Les after forty-four rewarding years of marriage.
Born in Warlingham, England to John and Lillian Aggiss, she grew up with older sisters Janet & Susan plus younger brothers Simon and Ian. She led a "tomboyish" childhood, always wanting to keep up with the adventures of her two younger brothers. At the age of fifteen she met and fell in love with Les. She and Les married in 1965 and raised their family.
In 1981, the family emigrated to Calgary, Alberta where she worked at Chevron as an Administrative Assistant for 23 years. In 2007 Eve and Les moved to Ladysmith to fulfill their dream of living close to the ocean. Many hours were spent swimming at Transfer Beach, notably Eve more than Les! In 2009 Les died after a long battle with cancer.
After a number of years, Eve and her long-time friend Roger decided to become partners and built a house together and settled in Chemainus.
Eve's hobbies included singing, line dancing, hiking, and performing in community shows. She cherished time in her garden, giving extra attention to her roses.
Time with family and friends was precious to Eve and she always had time for everyone. Her last days were spent at Cowichan Hospice, a loving "home" to pass your last days. Special, heartfelt thanks to all the staff and Dr. Masuda.
