Frank Radelja born January 30, 1923 passed away March 27, 2018 at the age of 95 at Nanaimo General Regional Hospital.
Predeceased by his wife Helen of 64 years. Survived by son Frank, daughter Linda (Dave) Harris, son John (Lily), grandchildren, Anthony (Veronica) Harris, Christopher (Jenn) Harris, Sheena, Amber and Tyler Radelja, Connor Radelja, great grandchildren Maddison and Austin Harris, Vivian and Theo Harris.
Frank was born in the former Yugoslavia and came to Canada in 1925. He started his career as a hand-faller in 1939 after a logging accident in 1957 he reinvented himself as "the Barber at the Bay".
Frank and Helen were married January 29th 1949 and built their first family home on Eberts Street, later moved in 1979 to their retirement home in Ladysmith. Frank enjoyed working in the outdoors, gardening, carving, fishing, dancing and making pancakes for guests.
Frank and Helen were always eager to attend and support all the grandchildren and great grandchildren functions.
A celebration of life will be held at Branch #256 Legion on Saturday, April 7th, 2018 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers make a donation to the charity of your choice.
