Doug passed away peacefully in his 89th year, with his family by his side, at the Chemainus Health Care Centre on Thursday, February 25, 2010.
Pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Celia, forever devoted father of Kevin (Katy), Anne Shephard Harry), Philip (Maureen), Roger (Elizabeth) and the late Derek Hinton. Loving Poppa of Jason (Jung Hye) and Joel (Laurie); Grandfather to Teresa (Eric), Steven & Brian.
Doug was retired after 25 years with Union Carbide. He enjoyed his music, English sports, gardening and was an active member of St. Michael's Anglican Church, Chemainus.
Cremation to follow. A private family Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In Doug's memory, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
