VENABLES, George
passed away at home in the early morning of May 30, 2004 with his loving family by his side. Born in Regina, Saskatchewan June 30, 1923.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 57 years Grace, sons Terry (Kathy) Venables, Calgary, Alta., Leo Venables Nanaimo, B.C., daughters Cheryl (John Dud) Nanaimo, B.C., Arlene (Pete Fenn) Nanaimo, B.C., granddaughter Deja Venables of Vancouver, B.C., grandsons Cory Venables of Victoria, B.C., Wayne Venables (Susan Turner) Vancouver, B.C., Brandon Dud and David Fenn of Nanaimo, B.C. Great-granddaughter Makaia Roberts of Vancouver, B.C. Sister Ada (Will) Gagnon of Port Hope, Ont., as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. George was predeceased by his parents Dorothy and Cecil Venables, brother and sister-in-law Alfred and Leona Venables, brothers: Arthur and Virgil Venables.
Visitation was held Friday, June 4, 2004 10:00 am to 11:00 am in St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 100 Front St., Nanaimo and the Funeral service followed with Rev. Ron MacKluskie officiating, interment in the Cedar Valley cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elk’s Royal Purple National Fund for Children, c/o Nanaimo Royal Purple Lodge #16, Box 115, #4-1150 Terminal Ave., Nanaimo, B.C. V9S 5L6.
