Georges MARTIN

August 19, 2005

passed away August 19, 2005 after a lengthy struggle with cancer, just short of his 78th birthday. Born in St. Anastasie-Sue Lssole (var) France. He came to Canada to finish his studies in Civil Engineering in 1956. His professional training along with his fluency in four languages enabled him to work in Africa (Ivory Coast, Camaroun) Spain, Germany, Mexico, Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia. He chose Ladysmith for his retirement. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth & daughter Jacqueline (Jacquie) Lewis and brother Andre & cousins Renee Huot & family of Toulen, France and Emile Rouvier & family of Magnane, France.

A sincere thank you for all the kindness & care given to Georges by the staff of the Cancer Clinic in Victoria & Nanaimo and to the team of doctors and nurses

(Dr. Britton-Foster). A special thanks to the staff of the Ladysmith Hospital for his last days. Those who wish to remember Georges could do so by donations to the BC Cancer Foundation Vancouver Island, 3410 Lee Ave., Victoria, BC V8R 6V5. A special thanks to Nadia Krewinke of First Memorial Funeral Services of Nanaimo for her help in arranging the cremation.
