In Loving Memory ~
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, mom, aunt and nana on July 18, 2022.
A great-granddaughter of Vancouver Island's Cougar Annie, Glenda was born in Ladysmith BC and remained an Island girl. Like Annie, she enjoyed collecting small cuttings and nurturing them into healthy outdoor plants.
While she spent time working at Louis Plazzer's law firm, it was her 22 years at Nanaimo's Keg for which Glenda is best remembered. As a manager and dedicated team member she was attentive to customer needs, a mentor to many staff and a 'mom' to some.
Glenda was the glue that brought the Keg staff together as a family. She made sure each person was supported, felt valued and gave people a "second chance" when they didn't think they were worthy. Over the years, her support and love helped many and she will be fondly remembered as being fair, consistent and always ready with a witty comeback.
Glenda was a Ladysmith Grad of '79 and maintained friendships with many of her classmates. She valued family gatherings, special visits with her mom and relished every opportunity to spend time with her daughter and grandsons.
Predeceased by her father (George), Glenda is survived by her mother Marilyn, loving daughter Samm (Matthew), grandsons Dylan and Lucas, sister Laurie (Steve), brothers Derrick and Chris (Paula), nieces Sydney and Paige, and nephews Drew and Josh.
A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Boat Basin Foundation (Canada Helps) or the Breast Cancer Society of Canada.
Glenda may have had cancer, but cancer never had her.
Gone far too soon
