Harley passed away peacefully at the Palliative Care unit of the Nanaimo General Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born in Digby, Nova Scotia; he was the son of Titus and Susie Nash. He moved his wife and sons to Victoria, B.C. in November of 1964 and then in May of 1972, he settled his family in South Wellington, just south of Nanaimo, B.C. Harley worked in the Mobile Home Industry, first towing them and later as a General Contractor by setting them up and adding on additions and decks, along with odd repairs.


He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife of 49 years, Reta (Specht), sons Kevin (Carol) of Hinton, AB; Terry (Karen) of Fort McMurray, AB; daughters Heather (Rick) Foolkes of Ladysmith, BC; Shauna (Rob) Forysth of Nanaimo, BC; granddaughters Taylor Nash and Breanna Forysth; step grandchildren Dustin (Corrinna) Doyle, Lee-Anna (Pat) Robertson, Nathan (Clarie) Carpenter, Heather (Flint) Cavey, Carla (Jayson) Foolkes, Tina (Gary) Forysth, Tammy (Lawrence) Forysth, and 7 step great grandchildren; his sisters, Valerie McKendry of Victoria, BC; Joyce Adams of Digby, NS; his sister in-laws Phyllis Specht of Digby, NS; and Audrey (Bernard) Morehouse of New Minas, NS; his brother in-law John Specht of Mill Bay, BC; and along with several nieces and nephews throughout Canada.


Harley will also be missed by his many dear friends, that he showed his friendship by his sense of humor and teasingness (especially the ladies of the mobile home park).


He was predeceased by his oldest son Brian, brothers Wilfred and twin Harold and sisters June, Verda and Susan; brother in-law Ross Specht.


A celebration of his life will be held at the South Wellington Community Hall on Saturday February 13th from 2 pm till 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to either the Canadian Cancer Society or the Palliative Care Unit c/o Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, 1200 Dufferin Cres, Naniamo, BC; V9S 2B7 would be gratefully appreciated.
