, Harold Russell BARTON

Passed away in Ladysmith, BC on September 26 2004 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Condor Alberta May 21 1942 Harold moved to the Cowichan Valley in 1947 and then to Ladysmith in 1971. He served with the Queens Own Rifles of Canada from 1960 to 1966 that included a 3 year UN peace keeping tour of Germany and with a UN peace keeping force in Cyprus. Harold retired from Harmac Pulp in 1998 where he worked from 1970 to 1998. Predeceased by both parents and brother Jack. Survived by his loving wife Sandra, Children Robert, Bruce (Catharine) Duncan, Paul (Rae) Fort St John, Raymond (Michelle)Lantzville, Grandchildren ; Samantha, Joshua, Devon, Randall, Bryce, George, Jared and Cassidy. Sister Anne Wood of England, brother Wesley (Lenore)  Nanaimo, sister June Proteau (Earl) Chemanius, brother Bill (Dawna) Quesnel, sister Donna Ferguson (Dan) Victoria, sister Mary, Red Deer AB and brother Fred (Carole) Chemanius. As well, numerous nieces, nephews and many close friends. A celebration of life will be held Thursday. September 30, 2004, 1:00 pm at Ladysmith Eagles Hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ladysmith Resources Center Association.
