aged 63, of Ladysmith passed away January 28, 2007 at Ladysmith Hospital. She was born January 16, 1944, in Coventry, England, the daughter of Andreas and Maria Evagorou. Helen is survived by her husband, Ken; son, David; daughters Zoë (Dennis) and Andrea (Robert); grandchildren Sofia and Olivia; sister, Deanna; and brother, Chris. She worked as a Home Economics teacher at Ladysmith Secondary where she warmed hearts and filled bellies for 27 years. Upon retirement, Helen volunteered her time to Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Open Door Clinic. Family, friends, and students will remember her hospitality, grace, humour, and strength. She was a mom to a few and a second mom to many. A memorial service will be held in Ladysmith at 11 am, Saturday February 3, 2007 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted for the creation of a memorial bursary to be awarded to a LSS student.
