passed away peacefully January 16, 2005 at Victoria. Predeceased by her husband, George B. McKay, parents, Basil and Ruth Spurling, brothers, Frank Spurling and Roger Spurling, sister, Dora Pryke and brother-in-law, Harold Pryke.
She is survived and
will be greatly missed by her sisters-in-law, Betty Spurling and June Spurling, seven nephews and nieces, fourteen great-nephews and great-nieces and many other dear family and friends. She was born at
Baring, Saskatchewan on February 7, 1919 and lived most of her life on Vancouver Island and in Vancouver. She enjoyed a varied career including many years with Canadian Fishing Co. She had a wonderful sense of humour and loved the company of
others, especially young children. She was a joy to all who knew her with the gift of making each feel special .
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 22nd at 1:00 pm at the Anglican Church of the Advent, 510 Mount View, Colwood. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC would be appreciated. Thanks to Rev John Steele and to the nursing staff at Berwick House.
