Ileen Churchill

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved “Bubba’s Nan”, Ileen Churchill, on Wednesday, March 19,2003, in the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.

Ileen was born March 14,1931 in Keene, Ontario. Following school, she worked for Westclox until 1951, when she met and married the love of her life, Wally Churchill. The couple moved to Ladysmith and raised their five children, enjoyed their eleven grandchildren and recently celebrated the births of their two greatgrandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, Frank & Mildred Brown; her nephew, Steve Redpath; her mother & father-in-law, Bernard & Emma Churchill and her brother-in-law, Doug Redpath.

The #1 Bertuzzi / Canuck fan will be sadly missed by: her husband and ‘Luv’ of 52 years, Wally; children: Robbie (Diane), Barrie (Val), Brenda, Debbie, and Patti (Darrell). Her adoring grandchildren include: Christian, Justin, Nathan, Aaron (Angela), Tawni (Mark), Michael, Richie, David, Lindsay, Jason (Katrina) and Scott and greatgrandsons, Lorien and Jeremy. She is also survived by her sister: Doreen Redpath, and brothers Bill & Arnold Brown of Keene, Ontario and an aunt Hazel Mathers, Peterborough, Ontario; along with her sister-in-law Marilyn Smith and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of lifelong friends and neighbors including her extended family: Aunty Bett’ & Uncle Bill, Elma Brown, Bill Ritchie, Brennen & Jennifer, Dahl Church and John Rogers.

Friends are invited to join the family at a “Tea of Remembrance” on Thursday, March 27, 2003, in the Eagles Hall, 1st Avenue, Ladysmith, from 1 pm to 3 pm. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Ladysmith Hospital Auxiliary, Box 1151, Ladysmith B.C., V9G 1A8.
