Isabel Grace Williams

April 27, 2010

It is with sadness we share the sudden loss of our mother, grandmother and wife Isabel Grace Williams (nee Worthington) born August 31, 1935. Isabel passed away in her sleep April 27, 2010 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She is survived by John, her loving husband of 58 years, and their six children: Grace (Dieter) Frost of Alberta, Bill (Sheila) Williams of Coombs, Beth (Ron) Robillard of Ladysmith, Howard Williams of Ladysmith, Myrna Ager of Nanaimo, and Carol (Sydney) Williams of Vancouver.

“Oma” leaves grandchildren: Sheena, Jamie, Thomas, Katrina, Michael, Percy, Jeffrey, Joseph and Sara; 3 great grandchildren Lilly, Andrea and Makia; and her sister Elaine (Bill) Fernyhough of Nanaimo.

Never one to stay on the sidelines, Isabel was always actively involved and held many appointed positions in organizations such as PTA, Water Board, Girl Guides, Canadian Diabetic Association, Clay Tree, and St. John’s Anglican Church. She also ran with the Queen’s baton for the ’94 Commonwealth Games. Besides all of her organizational endeavours, she thrived on being the best Avon representative (more than 35 years) she could be, leading her to receive many awards and be a long-time member of the President Club. She lived for visiting her many friends and helping them wherever possible. She enjoyed playing crib, traveling, gardening and volunteering where and whenever possible. A celebration of life and service was held on Saturday, May 1st at 2:30 p.m. at the St. John’s Anglican Church in Ladysmith.

In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to the Canadian Diabetic Association or B.C. Cancer Agency in her honour.
