HOPKINS ~ Jacalyn May (nee Copp)
February 8, 1952 - January 2, 2011
Jackie passed away peacefully January 2, 2011 surrounded by her family.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband Danny Hopkins, mother Joan Mrus, brothers and sisters, Doug, Ken, Terri, Shirley, David, Peter. Her sister and brother-in-laws, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jackie was predeceased by her father Alexander Copp and step-father Steve Mrus.
Born in Ladysmith, BC Jackie made many friends through her career in the airline industry which took her to Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary, before retiring back on Vancouver Island, where she enjoyed her garden, bird watching and her beloved dogs Kobe and Tuffy.
We would also like to thank Dr. Love and his staff at the Nanaimo Palliative Care Unit; they made Jackie’s final days very comfortable. Truly Angels on earth.
A celebration of Jackie’s life will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1135 4th Avenue, Ladysmith.
In lieu of flowers friends may donate directly to the Nanaimo Palliative Care Unit, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
