Passed away at Royal Jubilee Hospital, in Victoria B.C with his wife and daughter by his side.
In his early life Jack lived in the ranch country of Pavilion BC, and ever after we considered him a true cowboy. He lived for a time in Golden, B.C working with his family in a Husky truck stop.
His next move was to Vancouver Island where he started by working in a tire shop and then on the green chain in Ladysmith and then Headsawyer and Charge hand at the Cowichan Bay mill. His career changed direction and he trained to become a paramedic, becoming Unit Chief in Chemainus.
Besides his family and friends his love for fishing was paramount in his life and he spent many happy summers off the waters of Port Renfrew making friends and memories
He and his wife Linda were also foster parents for many years, taking on over 35 children and being awarded the Lieutenant Governor's Award for Fostering. Every one of those children held a special place in his heart.
Jack and Lynne's River Road property has been a home to everyone and many wonderful parties and family reunions have taken place there. His shop door was always open and many days were spent with his buddies sharing a story over a beer.
He leaves to grieve his wife Linda, daughter Heather (Al), three grandchildren in Alberta Natasha, Dallas and Dillon Reizevoort, four grandchildren on the island Brady (Meghan), Kelsey (Travis), Becca (Jason) and Bryce (Liv), and two great grandsons, Luke and Wyatt. Also Jacks brother Bud (Lorraine), sisters Kaye (Boris) and Shirley (Stan) as well as numerous foster children, nieces and nephews and in laws.
Jack was pre-deceased by his Parents Clarence and Alice Hughes, his son Paul Reizevoort and his sister Jean and brother in law Jim
He will be missed more than words can describe .
