Judson, James Frederick

Passed away on June 19th, 2009 at The Lodge on 4th, Ladysmith, BC at the age of 101 years. Born in Redcar, England on May 11th, 1908. Predeceased by his wife Lois on December 4th, 1990; son Kenneth Hayes Judson on February 3rd, 1999. Survived by his daughters: Shirley (Don) and Arleen (Norman) both of Nanaimo, BC, and Joyce (Tom) of Chemainus, BC; sons: Jack (Lorna) of Ladysmith, BC, Fred (Sherry) of Parksville, BC and Gordon (Louise) of Cedar, BC. Also 19 grandchildren, 35 greatgrandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; 4 nieces and their families, cousins in England, Australia, and Saskatchewan; and numerous foster children. Mr. Judson came to Canada at the age of 12 years in 1920 from England with his mother, brother, grandmother, aunt, and a cousin settling in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. He married in 1934 and dairy farmed until 1937. The family moved to Vancouver Island in 1937 with two daughters. He was a hard working gentleman, and mixed farming was his life on the Island, he did his own logging on the farmland in the off season; and owned and operated Circle J. Riding Stables at Yellow Point for many years. His love besides his family, was to go fishing and hunting.

Celebration of Life Graveside Inurnment Service will be held at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, on Saturday June 27th, 2009 at 10:00 am, Pastor Fred Massey, officiating.
