Janet (nee Mason)

passed away peacefully on May 21, 2003 at Ladysmith Hospital, her mother Victoria Mason was at her side.

Janet was a new resident to Ladysmith and moved from the mainland to be closer to her good friend Gord Acreman, shortly after she was diagnosed with lung cancer. Her battle was brave and she never gave up hope that she would survive.

Janet is survived by her daughter Sherre Acreman and her granddaughter Ashley, whom she loved dearly, in the lower mainland. She is also survived by her mother Victoria Mason of Kamloops, her older sister Valarie Melnick from Cranbrook, BC, brothers; Marlin and Kevin Mason of Kamloops, BC and her little sister Brenda Parish of Victoria, BC.

Her family would like to thank the Ladysmith nurses and staff and Dr. Tim Britton-Foster and a very special thank you to Gord Acreman, Judy Middleton, Gina Lawless, Debbie Wilts and Barbara Waters.

Thank you all and the community of Ladysmith for taking our daughter and sister into your hearts.
