Jessie Muriel Francesca Daws

February 18, 2005

1910 - 2005

(nee’ Larke)

Jessie entered into the presence of her Lord on February 18, 2005 in her 95th year. We who are left to mourn are saddened at her passing while realizing that she has accepted her reward as a true and faithful servant. Jessie was born in Lowestoft, Suffolk, the youngest child of Rev. and Mrs. J.S. Larke. She was predeceased by her infant daughter Margaret (1938), her husband Leonard Victor (1986) and daughter Audrey Muriel (2001). She is survived by her two sons: Reginald Leonard (Velma) and Raymond John of Chilliwack, BC. She leaves to mourn several nieces, nephews, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and many dear friends. Jessie came to Canada in 1948 accompanied by her husband and three children. The family settled in Richmond, BC and lived there for twenty-nine years. While in Richmond, Jessie was church organist at the Brighouse and Richmond United Churches. She also taught piano lessons during that time. In 1973 Jessie and Len moved to Gabriola Island, they then later relocated to Nanaimo. After Len’s death she moved to Kiwanis Court No. 10 and lived there for 10 years. Jessie then moved across the street to the Traveller’s Lodge where she enjoyed her final years. Jessie was a loving, caring person, whose cheerful countenance and radiant smile captured the hearts of those who knew and met her. She was dearly loved and will be sorely missed. Sincere appreciation is expressed to the nurses and caregivers at the Lodge for their devotion. Interment will take place at the Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens at 1:00 pm, Monday, Febrary 28, 2005, followed by a Memorial Service at the Wakasiah Gospel Chapel at 2:00 pm. Dr. Donald Rae and Allen Burleigh officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Bible Society would be appreciated.
