JOAN HENRIKSEN

June 1, 2010

HENRIKSEN,

FRANCES, JOAN

1925-2010

Joan was born in Shanghai, China to Thomas A. & Annetta M. Aiers. In 1941 they escape the International Settlement, fleeing to Ottawa where her father joined the RCAF as a Provost Marshall. Joan obtained her wire-less operator's ticket & was only recently recognized by Norway and decorated by Canada for her service as a Merchant Mariner in the Atlantic & Pacific until the end of WW II.

Joan will be greatly missed by her much loved children Tom, Kari, Mimmi, Christopher and Jonathan; her grandchildren Zoe & Christopher; and, her sister Yvonne.

Ashore, and a float for 45 years, Joan was the companion and beloved "Henry" to Norman Wright.

We would like to thank the many angels who cared for Joan these passed months, particularly Catherine McGhee, DVA, and the staff at the Lodge on 4th, Ladysmith.

At Joan's request:

Cremation & a private family gathering.
