Passed away peacefully in Ladysmith, B.C. on November 12, 2003. Born in Krydor Saskatchewan, September 8, 1918. John was a veteran of WWII, and a member of the R.C.L. Branch 171. Predeceased by his brother Michael and sisters: Mary, Anne and Kate. Survived by his loving wife of 63 years Yvette, sons: Donald, Andrew (Andy) (Lois) of Lantzville, William and Kenneth (Laura) of Ladysmith. Daughters: Ellen (Rick) Wellman, of Niagara Falls, Ont., Louise Bohun of Lake Cowichan, Kathleen (Jim) Jamison of Ladysmith, Rachelle Cassidy of Vancouver, Zora Szilagyi of Ladysmith. Sisters: Rose Biernat, Welland, Ont., Pauline Sokoloski of Fort Erie, Ont., Agnes Morningstar of Welland, Ont., Jenny Babyak of Fonthill, Ont., Doris Billyard of Port Colborne, Ont., 18 grandchildren: Erkia Townsend, Sean Bohun, Monique Taglog, Ian Bohun, Terry, Samantha, John, Zabrina and Thomas Wellman, Jules Maxwell and John Hall, Colleen Eshelby, Nathan Szilagyi, Sara Davies and Heather Szilagyi, Lucous, Vincent Cunningham and Marlon Bohun; 15 great grandchildren: Jade, Asia, Aries, Katrina, Holly, Benjamin, Jacob, Natasha, Nicholas, Jaz, Lusious, Lily, Joseph, Taylor and Owen. Prayers were held Sunday, November 16, 2003 at 7:00 pm St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ladysmith, BC. Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, November 17, 2003 at 11:00 am, followed by interment in the Ladysmith Cemetery, Fr. J. Kobos celebrant. Arrangements confidently assigned to Telford’s Mid-Island Memorial Services.
