John passed away peacefully at home with his family on November 6th, 2021.
He was born in George, Western Cape, South Africa, eldest son of Maartjie (Boersma) and Willie Randle and immigrated to Canada in 1980 with his wife Ann and 2 children, Craig and Susan. He joined the CIBC bank and worked in Dawson Creek (where his youngest daughter Meagan was born), Nelson, Stewart, Ladysmith, Powell River and Nanaimo before retiring in Ladysmith.
John was an avid lawn bowler and volunteer. In past years with the Boys and Girls Club, Ladysmith Hospital Board and Rotary Club. Most recently he served on the sponsoring committee of the Ladysmith Air Cadets.
John is survived by his wife Ann, his son Craig (Kelly), daughter Susan (Mike) and daughter Meagan. He was adored by his 6 granddaughters: Samantha and Cathryn Barney, Kira Randle, Marnie, Amanda and Lindsay Pearson and by his two step- grandchildren Aleshia and Liam Orr (Victoria).
He will be dearly missed by his brother Peter (Paula) and nephew and nieces Simon, Karen and Hilary (who all reside in South Africa) and his brother-in-law Colin (Germany).
The family would like to thank the Oncologists at Cowichan Hospital, Dr. Mcilmoyle, the home care nurses and home care staff who all helped to keep him comfortable in these last weeks.
