John Keith DEWAR

May 22, 2002

83, Chemainus, B.C. passed away on May 22, 2002. Keith was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on May 14, 1919. He attended Luther College in Regina where he attained the honour of athlete of the year. A great sports enthusiast, he excelled in baseball, hockey, curling and golf. He was a past honorary member of the Masons Lodge. He was a past member of the Duncan curling club, and upon his death was still an active member of the Mount Brenton Golf Club, the place he most loved to be since turning the sod and raking the rocks when it was first built.


He will be sadly missed by “The Dirty Dozen”, the senior golfers he loved so well. His love of life and positive attitude was envied by all who knew him. He was proud of his family and was always there for comfort and support. He loved music and instilled a lifetime of interest in it to his children. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Allen) in May, 2001.


Left to mourn and celebrate his life is a son Allen (Judy), of Chemainus, a daughter Maury Mossman (Gerald) of Nova Scotia, grandsons, Ron (Kim), Keith (Tammy), Darren, great grandchildren Shelby, Cory and Curtis. Many thanks to his special friends Bill and Ellie who were always there for him. Cremation has taken place and there will be no service by request. Donations may be made in his memory to the Mount Brenton Golf Course, The Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
