Jack passed away peacefully at Arbour Cottage in Ladysmith, where he received loving care for his short stay.

Jack was predeceased by his wife Jean in 1990 and his son Dallas in 2007. He is survived by three sisters: Lavina Stark, Vancouver BC; Mary Bretecher, Dauphin MB, and Katie Marshal, Kamloops BC; three grandchildren Jason, Mathew and Katelyn (Gordon) Luscomb, plus many nieces and nephews.

Jack left Manitoba for BC at an early age. He joined the Army in 1945-46. He worked for Pacific B.M. and Arrow Transport in Vancouver, moved to the Island working for Doman Transport before being self employed with Mac Tool Distributors, later having his son join him before his retirement.

Most important to Jack was his wife, son and his grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time with his extended family. Jack had a passion for Golf until his stroke, then enjoyed his coffee and companionship at the Mt Benson Golf Club for many years. He was also a member of The Royal Canadian Legion.

A Special Thanks to the Home Care nurses, Palliative Care team and Margie and staff at Arbour Cottage.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Chemainus on Friday, Nov 20th, 2009 at 11 A.M. followed by a Celebration of Life at Mt. Benson Golf Club.
