June Laverne (nee Taylor) GUILLE

August 13, 2005

Passed away suddenly on August 13th, 2005. Pre-deceased in July, 2001, by her husband Ernest of 54 years, and her brother Fred (in June of 2004). Dearly loved and missed by her children: Valerie, Michael (Marilyn), JoAnn (Chris), and Paul (Sandy); sadly missed by her grandchildren Ben, Renee, Curtis, Clayton, Jason, Hailey and Mischa; great-grandchild River. Born and raised in Ladysmith, June loved the ocean and was an avid swimmer as a young woman.  She moved to Victoria where she met Ernest, and together they moved to Vancouver where they started and raised their family. In the latter years, they moved to Courtenay, and for the last several months of her life, June lived with and was cared for by her son Paul and his wife Sandy.   Her love and her sense of humour will never be forgotten.

"I have passed a mountain peak and my soul is soaring in the firmament of unbound freedom. The songs of the waves and the hymns of the streams are scattered, and the voices of the throngs reduced to silence, and I can hear not but the music of eternity in exact harmony with the spirit's desires. I am cloaked in full whiteness; I am in comfort; I am in peace. " (Kahlil Gibran)

A gathering will be held to celebrate June's life at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24th in Yellow Point.
