April 27, 1901-April 26, 2003 Passed away peacefully on April 26, 2003 in his 94th year. Kasper is loved and remembered by his second wife Mary, brother Lorrie of Toronto, daughters Lorraine (Brian) Abbot of Ladysmith and Fern (Walt) Wende of Kamloops, grandchildren Paul (Lynn) Wende and Brent (Irene) Wende, Heather (Brad) Brawner and valerie (Tom) Irwin, five great grandchildren Kyle and Marissa Wende, Luke and Eleanor Brawner and Michael Wende, also step-daughter Maureen (Grant) Morstad and children Colleen, Cia and Adam and many nieces and nephews. Kasper was predeceased by his wife Erma, parents Paul and Barbara Blaser, brothers Edward and Norman, and sisters Eva and Beth. Kasper farmed in Saskatchewan before moving with his family to Nanaimo in 1947. He owned and operated Blaser’s Driving School for many years before retiring at age 80. Kasper served as a dedicated and devoted member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church for 50 years. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 3rd at 1:00 pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 394 Shepherd Ave., Nanaimo V9R 3X1.
