She leaves her children Wayne (Marilee), Linda, and Paul; as well as grandchildren Megan (Maj. Tim Robertson, U.S.M.C.), Patrick Magee, Christopher (Krystal) Redel and Nicole (Nicholas) Roe.
She took great delight in enjoying her great-grandchildren, Blaine, Morgan, Duncan, and Jake. She is survived by two sisters Margaret Mosher of Liverpool, Nova Scotia and Ester (Don) Crompton of Dundas, Ontario along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Kaye was born in Collingwood, Ontario but spent her early years in Galt, Ontario. It was there she met and married Norm in 1945. The family moved many times and with each move Kaye embraced the opportunity . In 1967, they moved the family to Red Deer, Alberta and Norm opened Brand Equipment (farm and truck dealership). Kaye called Red Deer “Home”, developing strong and lasting friendships.
She was active in many charities and enjoyed art, sewing and knitting crafts. She was active in Rotary Ann’s. She and Norm travelled throughout the world. She loved watching sports on TV, especially hockey and football. Her favourite football teams were the Hamilton Tiger Cats in the East and Saskatchewan Roughriders in the West. It was a struggle for her if they were playing against each other.
Her legacy: Raising a family who understands the value of friendship, an honest day’s work, a good laugh, and the ability to rise above whatever adversities greet us.
At her request, no funeral services will be held. A private family service will be held at a later date in the Red Deer Cemetery. Those wishing to honour her passing may make a donation, in her name, to the Canadian Cancer Society.
