Kenneth James FISHER

October 23, 2004

born September 23, 1922 in North Vancouver, B.C. Passed away suddenly on October 23, 2004 in Chemainus, BC. Predeceased by his parents James and Edith Fisher, his sisters: Betty Motherwell and Muriel Rodger and Hilary Alexander. Left to mourn are his loving wife Mary of 54 years, daughters: Hilary (Ray) Bates, Anne (Barry) Ellison, and grandchildren: Derek and Ashley Bates and Kimberly Ellison.

Ken served with the R.C.A.F. from 1942-1945. He worked as a machinist at MacMillan Bloedel, Chemainus for several years, before becoming the proprietor of Ken’s Shell Service in Chemainus, which he operated for twenty-five years 1954-1979. Ken was a member of the Green Mountain Ski Club, Chemainus Badminton Club and Power Squadron.

In his youth, Ken loved to sail his own boat and later enjoyed boating and fishing the waters around Thetis and Saltspring Islands, and he spent many enjoyable hours in his gardens.

Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 29, 2004 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Telford’s Mortuary, 112 French Street, Ladysmith, BC. “Papa will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Rest in Peace Papa”.
