Laura Mary McLELLAN

passed away peacefully in Nanaimo Regional Hospital on April 4, 2002.


She is predeceased by: her husband Howard Wilfred in February 1997, parents: Helen Druscilla Rose and William Griffiths, brothers: Fred William Griffiths in May 1991 and Billy Griffiths in infancy.


Survived by sons: Allan Knight, Bob Knight (Tracey), daughter Viv Palmer, Grandchildren: Jessica, Stephanie, Kandice, Angela, Steven (Tanya), Michael (Angela), Kenneth (Dayle), Bruce (Lorna). Great grandchildren: Sarah, Kyra, Tiyonna, Rebecca, Zack, Taylor, Alexandra, Breanna, Braedon, Connor and Cole.


Brothers and sisters: Jack (Pat), Rose of Liverpool England, June (Frank) Davidson of Cumbria, sister-in-”luv” Beryl-Chorley of England, nieces and nephews: Les Griffiths, Steven (Gill), Billy (Julie), Colin (Karen) and families all of England. Very special friends: Aggie, Erna, Eileen, Sheila, Treva, Cheryl along with many more.


Laura was active in the Nanaimo British Club, a volunteer for the Salvation Army, the Nanaimo Cancer Clinic and the War Brides Association of Vancouver Island.


A memorial service was held for Laura at Sands Funeral Chapel, One Newcastle Avenue, Nanaimo on Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at 2:00 pm with Reverend John Hutchinson officiating. Reception followed at Buttertubs Reception Hall, Buttertubs Drive, Nanaimo, BC. Cremation entrusted to Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Laura may be made to the Vancouver Island Cancer Lodge, 2202 Richmond Road, Victoria, BC V8R 4R5.
