Laurence James (Shorty) BEUSELINCK

passed away peacefully in Cowichan District Hospital on October 10, 2006.

Born in Panoka, Alberta January 19, 1925. Shorty was a veteran of WWII serving with the RCAF. Retired from longshoring after 32 years. He was a member of the Ladysmith Eagles and of Royal Canadian Legion Br. 171.

He enjoyed camping and fishing with his wife and family.

Predeceased by his loving wife Edna 2004, sister Mary 1998, brother Harry 2004, son-in-law Richard MacMillan 2002, brothers-in-law Jack 2002, Bill 2002 and Gordon 2006.

family: daughters: Lynda (Fred) Davidson, Delores (Don) Paine, Denice (Brian) Sopha; granddaughters: Theresa (Barry) Hartel, Tannia Lansel, Nicole (Dan) Schomer, great grandchildren: Duntin and Dylan Hartel, Andrew and Makenzie Schomer,

sisters-in-law: Pat Miller, Loretta Schoonarts, Colleen (Larry) Campbell and Lorraine Donaghy. Also nieces and nephews, special friends John and Maxine Heasman.

Interment service at 12:00 pm noon in the Ladysmith Cemetery, followed by A Celebration of Shorty’s life at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 20, 2006 in the Ladysmith Eagles’ Hall.
