Uncle Bill passed peacefully at the Lodge On 4th in his 95th year, with family and caring staff by his side. Born in Ladysmith, Bill was predeceased by his wife Annice (Kenyon) 1989, brother Roy 1946, and niece Jackie Gilroy in 2003. He is survived by his sister Florence Foster, niece June Babchuck, nephew-in-law and constant companion Al Gilroy, and brother-in-law Albert Kenyon. He was "Uncle Bill" to several grand nieces and nephews; Shirlee King (Dave), Gayle Gilroy (Don Stubbington), Garth Gilroy (Cathy), John Babchuck (Cathy), Arden Honey (David), Kate Foster (Bob) and Rusty Babchuck.
Bill always loved the water and worked in the forest industry as a bridge builder and boom man, then self employed as a fisherman and shellfish grower/harvester.
A private service will be held at the Ladysmith Cemetery on Thursday, March 27 at 11:00 am and a Celebration of Life for family and friends at the Arbutus Grove Cafe at the Lodge On 4th on Friday, April 4th from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.
