It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mae Laukkanen. She fought a very courageous battle with cancer.
Predeceased by her parents, brothers Toivu, Archie and beloved sister Anita. Mae is survived by her husband Paul, sons Mikko (Brenda), Kirk, Paul Jr (Di), her grandsons, Michael, Matt, Josh and Lucas and brother Bob (Julie). She is also survived by many relatives and friends in BC, Alberta, Ontario and Finland.The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses at Nanaimo Palliative Care, Nanaimo Hospice and all friends and family that were there for Mae throughout her journey. Rest in Peace Mae We Love You. There will be no service by request. Donations in Mae’s memory can be made to Nanaimo District Hospital Foundation Palliative Care and Nanaimo Community Hospice Society.
