FRANCOEUR, Marcel Romeo, passed away peacefully at the age of 67 in Ladysmith, BC on September 17/02 with his family at his side. Marcel was predeceased by his mother Yvette, Sister Janine, brother Leo, niece Karin Houle and step-mother Denise. Marcel is survived by his loving wife Edna, daughter Paulette Nichele (Rob), Sons Allan and Gerry (LaFern), stepsons: Lincoln Boomars (Leslie), Preston Boomars (Andrea), and Colin Boomars (Lena), Granchildren: Chad, Crystal, (Mike), Jeremy, Kylee, Deanna, Cole, Jessica, Amy, Eric and Caitlyn. His father Romain, brothers Art (Henriette), Raymond (Emma), Dennis (Judy), Sister Helen Houle (Dennis) and many other family members. Marcel retired from Somass Mill (Port Alberni) after forty years of employment, Anyone who knew Marcel knows that his passion in life was to build houses. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and to share what he knew. Marcel struggled with cancer for over five years and would have won the fight if the fight had been fair. Through his last struggles he never lost the sense of humour he was so well known for. Marcel will be sadly missed by all that knew him and to quote him “Do something nice for yourself”. A Celebration Mass for Marcel’s Life was held in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ladysmith BC on September 23, 2002 at 11am. Fr. Frank Franz Celebrant.
