Margie Leona Quist
February 1921 to February 2011
Margie passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on February 23, 2011 in Nanaimo, BC. Margie was born in Aitkin, Minnesota to Christian and Florence Woodrow Gabrielson.
Margie married Ernest George Quist in 1942 and they were married for 44 years. Margie and Ernie moved to Ladysmith, BC from Langley, BC in 1942. She had 3 sons: Dennis, Daryl and Eugene and was highly supportive of promoting the arts and education. Margie was a prolific homemaker and enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and baking. She liked to camp with her family around the island. Margie was very active in supporting CCF and NDP politics. She raised three dachshunds, Pixie, Trixie and Sheeba. Margie is predeceased by her parents, husband “Ernie”, son Dennis and sister Cleo Howitt (Sam). Margie is survived by sons Daryl (Carolyn) and Eugene (Carolyn W.) and daughter-in-law Nancy, brother Roy (Ruby), sister Lynn (Art). 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Margie will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and many friends.
