DE JONG (Margriete) Grietje Martha Born July 11, 1928 in Friesland, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2008 in Ladysmith. Margriete is predeceased by her husband, Max, in 2002, brothers Jan, Geert and Henke. She is survived by her sister, Sippe, sons Gerald (Sherri), John and Henry, grandchildren Jason (Tonya), Krista (Brian) and great grandaughter Jorie Lynn (the sparkle of her great Oma's eye).She also has extended family and friends who will remember her. Margriete was known for many years as the "foot lady" in the Ladysmith-Nanaimo area. Thank you to Dr. Fritsch and staff at Ladysmith family practice and urgent care. A huge thank you to Margy and staff for their loving care they provided the past few months, the family is very grateful to you all. No service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation, BC Lung Association or a charity of your choice in memory of Margriete.
